Founder & CEO
Frankie founded The Justification of Youth to write a new story of freedom from injustice through the pursuit of joy. She has organized ten student mission trips in the past year to the Dominican Republic, generating over $100,000 in Kids Alive charitable contributions. She has also served as a teaching assistant with St. Mary's College of California. There, she directed service-learning programs and sports clinics for orphans and at-risk children in the Dominican Republic. She is fluent in Spanish and will soon be moving to the Dominican Republic.
Executive Vice President
Lindy is a graduate of Taylor University, where she studied Kinesiology and Psychology. She has worked with a team of students and the Taylor community to bring JOY to their campus. Sports teams, dorms, and clubs are now actively supporting at-risk youth. Lindy and the Taylor team have started a child sponsorship program that serves children in the Dominican Republic. Lindy currently works for United Airlines as a flight attendant and is the process of starting her own videography production company.
Director of Programs
Allie is a graduate of Miami University where she studied Health Promotion, Special Education, and Child Studies. Allie was a participant on the very first JOY team and since then has led and facilitated JOY teams, serving in both Peru and the Dominican Republic. Currently, Allie oversees JOY operations with respect to service teams, leadership training, and all team development programs. Allie is passionate about young people living with purpose and believes that each person has a story worth telling.
Kaki is graduate of Miami University where she studied Social Justice Studies. Kaki is the go-to for JOY for everything organizationally. Outside of her work with JOY, Kaki has a passion for hockey, nutrition, and neurology and currently resides in Detroit, Michigan.
Margaret graduated from Miami University with degrees in Professional Writing and Interactive Media Studies. Her passions for travel and working with children led her to the Dominican Republic and soon after, JOY! Since joining the team, Margaret has created JOY's website, as well as an internship program and blog to share students' experiences in the Dominican Republic. She is dedicated to providing encouragement and opportunity for young people to use their creative talents for purpose. Margaret is freelancing in Indiana.
President - Miami University
Sarah is currently a sophomore at Miami University who is majoring in Education. She is began her journey with JOY as an intern last year and participated in her first trip with JOY in May 2017. She now serves as the President of JOY at Miami University. Sarah loves photography and bringing together students, professors, and businesses to advance the vision of JOY. Find her in Oxford drinking a latté at Kofenya and eager to meet with anyone interested in getting involved with JOY.
